u14 Football
The u14 footballers continued their winning ways in South Down Division 1 with a victory over Mayobrideg away on Wednesday 19 May .The scoring accuracy of Garrett Campbell ensured that Shamrocks raced into an early lead which they never relinquished .The hard working defence spearheaded by Conor Hillen conceded only 3 points in the match to finish 5-13 to 0-3 . There was disappointment however for the u14s at the Down feile finals when they lost narrowly to Carryduff in the final after beating Burren in the semi-final . Shamrocks will now focus on the League and the Championship which starts with an away visit to neighbours Mitchels on Monday 24 May .

Ulster Feile
Commiserations to the U14 hurlers who were narrowly beaten 1-4 to 1-3 in the Ulster Feile final by Liatriom. A hamstring injury that necessitated Ryan Courtney having to play at full forward most of game ultimately cost the Shamrocks the game as a fully fit Ryan would have made all the difference. Despite this blow the young Shamrocks lads did the club proud and none more so than Jordan Murphy, Ruari Campbell, Shay Harper and Matthew Dipnell who were outstanding though every player on the field played their part. With Liatriom having taken Bredagh to extra time in the Div 1 Down Feile the Shamrocks are already looking forward to the championship and the chance to prove that with everyone available they are the best U14 hurling team in the county bar none. Full report to follow in hurling section

Match report
Newry Shamrocks Senior Hurlers defeat Warrenpoint Newry Shamrocks travelled to Warrenpoint last night full of confidence after last week beating Liatriom. The match was on that was there for both teams to win but in the end a brave and gutsy performance saw Shamrocks beat Warrenpoint on a scoreline of 1 - 15 to 1 - 11. This was not a match full of brilliant hurling by both teams, rather a scrappy affair. At half time both teams were level 1-8 to 1-8, and until the last ten minutes was nip and tuck, but the superior scoring skills of the Shamrocks and the willingness to work for each other showed through in the end, with Shamrocks pulling four points ahead at the end. A special word has to go to Eoin McGuiness who controlled the full forward line and fought like a warrior to win the sliothar and frees sometimes with three men hanging of him he still managed to score points. Ronan Sheehan on his free taking which kept us in touch the whole way through the game. Kieran Courtney Mark Cribben and Kevin Fegan who worked tirelessly to keep the Warrenpoint men at bay. But from the goalkeeper down to number 15 and subs Newry Shamrocks showed why they are one of if not the best Hurling sides this side of the water.
