Hurling League
Shamrock Senior hurlers continued their recent return to form winning their opening match of the Down Div 1 league 3-15 to 0-13 against Ballvarley despite missing five regulars. This was after a hard fought victory against Rasharkin in the Ulster League on Saturday inspired by brillant performances by Paul Sheehan, John McCabe along with Eoin McGuinness and Kieran Courtney. Meanwhile the juvenile hurlers warmed up for their trip to Cork with a big victory over Warrenpoint in the U14 league.

Hurlers
The hurling season has kicked of, with the Ulster league starting for the Senior team and the juvenile league. The seniors travelled to Belfast to play Burt from Donegal and where beaten 3 16 to 3 10. The under 14s travelled to Armagh to play Cuchulains and were successful at the final whistle with a score of Newry Shamrocks 4 08 Cuchulains 0 05. The under 14s as well travelled to Portaferry with an under strength squad and came away with a victory. It is early days yet and already we are starting to show promising signs of a good season ahead for all teams involved
