| Shamrocks Hurlers Make Their Point |
| Great win for the Senior hurlers tonight against local rival Warrenpoint on the scoreline of 3-16 to 1-3. Gulf in class was evident for all to see throughout the game with every Shamrocks man playing a stormer none more so than the midfield partnership of Shane Courtney and Paul Sheehan.

| U10s get season off to winning start |
| Well done to the U10 hurlers who got the season off to a flying start with victory at the first South Down blitz of the year.
They remained unbeaten over the day scoring 50 points without reply including big victories over the likes of Warrenpoint and Ballea.
While all players played their part a special mention to Ciaran Fullerton and Dara Sheehan for an exhibition of hurling throughout the day

| Senior Hurlers Draw with Portaferry? |
| The senior hurlers produced a great performance to draw with a Portaferry team containing six of their senior championship side. Only disappointment was that everyone including Portaferry bar the ref had the score as Shamrocks 2-10 to Portaferry 2-9 which was disappointing.
Despite this it was a great performance with Artie McGuinness, Shane Courtney and Neil Courtney leading the way for the Newry men.

| Some More Humour -Good GAA jokes |
| Pat Spillane, Colm ORourke, and Jarlath Burns are standing before God at the throne of Heaven.
God looks at them and says; "Before granting you a place at my side, I must first ask you what you believe in."
Addressing Colm ORourke first, he asks "What do you believe?"
ORourke looks God in the eye,and states passionately,"I believe Gaelic football to be the food of life. Nothing else brings such unbridled joy to so many people, from the slums of East Tyrone, to the kingdom of Kerry. I have devoted my life to bring such joy to those people who stood on the terraces supporting their club and county"
God looks up and offers Colm the seat to his left.
He then turns to Jarlath Burns. "And you, Mr Burns. What do you believe?"
Jarlath stands tall and proud, "I believe courage, honour and passion are the fundamentals to life, and Ive spent my whole playing career providing a living embodiment of these traits".
God, moved by the passion of the speech offers Jarlath the seat to his right.
Finally, he turns to Pat Spillane. "And you, Mr Spillane. What do you believe?"
"I believe", says Pat, "that youre in my seat".
